Different Books For Children

We all know that books for children are a great tool to our child’s development. But as a parent, we should also know what books to give to our children to take full advantage of it. There are different types of books for children that will suite them according to their age. These are called baby’s books, toddler’s books and preschooler’s books.

Books for Children For 0 – 2 years (Baby Books)

Books For ChildrenThese books for children for 0 – 2 years of age are also known as baby books. Children of this age are never too young to enjoy books. We may think that children of this age can not read books but it is not actually about reading the words from the books, it is all about the fun and enjoyment between the parent and the child. Thus, babies feel comforted whenever they hear their parent’s voice.

Baby Books also contains large images with bright colors which make it more interesting and captivating to children’s eyes. There are also books for children called lift-flap books that help in the development of a child dexterity, and books that produces sounds that develop listening skills.

Finally, bedtime stories are a great way to help send babies off to sleep. It also help children to develop memory skills by reading them their favorite stories. Introducing books for children at their early age provides useful grounding in listening and reading skills as they grow older.

Books for Children For 2 – 3 years (Toddler Books)

These books for children for 2 – 3 years are known as toddler books. Toddler books also contains bright colors and images, which also makes it interesting to children. Toddlers love to look for bright images and pictures in the book, and create their own stories through looking at it. Toddlers also enjoy looking at the same book, or listening to the same story. They also particularly enjoy children’s books with rhythmic or lyrical words.

This age is the perfect age for children to learn the basics of language and numbers, and reading along to stories and counting books will aid their understanding of words and numbers. Favorite characters, such as those from television programs, are a particularly good way of teaching the basics in fun ways they will absolutely enjoy.

Books for Children For 3 – 5 years (Preschooler’s Books)

These books for children for 3 to 5 years old are known as preschooler’s books. Children of this age are expected to be curious outside of their home, school and environment. They are more likely enjoy listening to more complex text with different characters. Stories with a sequence allow children to predict, repeat sounds, and make word plays.

Preschoolers also starting to love different subjects such as fairy tales, fables, and non fiction books. Books about familiar animals, wildlife and nature are very much interesting to these children on this age. Also the likes of fantasy stories with mermaids, pirates and fairies are perfect book for children of this age, so they can stimulate their own imagination.

Introducing educational books are also a good idea at this young age. These are books that contains alphabets and numbers. These books for children are great for building self confidence, and a perfect way to motivate children to read books.
